Hotelier opened 34 Motel 6/Studio 6 locales in year’s first half
Accor North America, one of the largest owner/operators of economy lodging in the U.S., said it opened 32 Motel 6 and 2 Studio 6 franchise locations in the first half of 2010. The openings added a total 2,874 rooms to the company's network of economy brands, which consists of more than 1,000 economy lodging locations in the U.S. and Canada (roughly 40 percent of which are owned by franchisees).
“We opened our 400th franchise this year, following three years of consecutive, record-breaking growth for Motel 6/Studio 6,” said Olivier Poirot, ceo of Accor North America, Motel 6 and Studio 6. “While we are very pleased with this pattern of growth, our emphasis remains on maintaining the highest levels of quality and consistency throughout our network.”
