Starwood flag to open hotel in downtown district in 2013
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. has unveiled plans to open an Aloft hotel in Oklahoma City in early 2013. The Aloft Oklahoma City Downtown-Bricktown will be located in that city's revitalized arts and entertainment district.
Owned by New Century Investments, the newly constructed hotel will feature 140 loft-like rooms. “We expect Aloft Oklahoma City Downtown-Bricktown to appeal to both sophisticated travelers and area professionals with its eclectic and electric experience, lively re:mix lounge and w xyz bar,” said James R. Thompson II, vice president of New Century Investments.
Launched 18 months ago, the select-service Aloft chain currently consists of about 40 hotels.
