River-cruise operator adding three ships, refurbishing another
AMA Waterways recently added a 12th vessel to its fleet of custom-designed river-cruise ships, with the launch of the 162-passenger Ms Amabella, which will serve the European market . In addition, the California-based company plans to launch two more ships in coming months – the MS Amaverde, another vessel serving the European market, and Ms Amalotus, its second ship to ply the Mekong River in Vietnam and Cambodia.
Beyond those new ships, AMA Waterways also plans to relaunch a refurbished Ms Amakatarina next spring on Russia's Volga-Baltic Waterway.
“River cruising is growing at an unprecedented rate and we are in a very fortunate position because we offer superb accommodations plus excellent service,” says AMAWatetways president Rudi Schreiner. “Today's travelers expect high quality and our ships are designed to deliver a premium experience every step of the way. More than anything else, travellers want inclusive pricing, which is why our cruises include shore excursions, wine with gourmet dinners, free internet, no charge to see first- run Hollywood movies and even guided bicycle tours. Our goal is to be the leader in river cruising and deliver the best river cruise vacation in the business.”
