Two-level complex will feature 62 treatment rooms

Developers of new ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas have taken the wraps off design details for the complex's spa, which will feature 62 treatment rooms, a full-service salon, an advanced fitness center, a boutique, poolside spa cabanas and the city's first co-ed spa balcony. The two-level, 80,000-square-foot spa will open in December, in conjunction with the debut of the ARIA complex, one of the first projects to open in the massive CityCenter development.

“The Spa at ARIA will deliver a fresh and progressive experience influenced by unique spa rituals from around the world,” said Michelle Wilkos, director of spa and salon operations, ARIA Resort & Casino. “Our guests will enjoy tailored treatments that address their individual needs and help them achieve a higher level of meditation.”

Below are some details on the spa's design elements:

* The complex will celebrate nature, through such elements as a stone and water garden at the entrance that's adorned with sacred Japanese Aji stones, blessed in Japan to inspire calmness and tranquility. The space will also offer abundant natural light flowing in through floor-to-ceiling windows.

* Treatment room walls will be made from earthy soil to provide an indigenous, warm feeling. A salt meditation room (“shio”) will feature a wall of illuminated salt bricks that encourages the healing of skin irritations and upper respiratory problems. Adorned with salt lamps and lounge chairs that provide vibration therapy in rhythm to sensual music, salt-infused air will leave guests with radiant and dewy skin. A second meditation room will be the only in the country to offer Japanese stone sauna (“ganbanyoku”) beds.

* The co-ed balcony will feature an outdoor therapy pool that resembles a Japanese open-air hot bath (“rotenburo”).
