Boutique brand to debut in South Beach
B Hotels & Resorts announced that the Continental Oceanfront South Beach Hotel will become its second locale. The 250-key hotel, at 18th Street and Collins Avenue, will remain operational during a renovation and repositioning. It will debut under the B flag in late fall 2012.
“We are excited to announce the location of our much-anticipated second hotel,” said Ayelet Weinstein, B Hotels’ president and ceo. “In a short period of time, we have built a base of brand loyalists who have been awaiting news of future B Hotels & Resorts properties. We look forward to welcoming those who are familiar with our brand new hospitality alternative in South Beach, as well as those who have not yet experienced all that we have to offer.”
The Continental Oceanfront South Beach Hotel is owned by InSite Group and Cube Capital, which acquired the property for $61 million in a joint venture earlier this year. The first B Hotels & Resorts property opened in January 2011 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
