Einstein Noah Restaurant Group said its Einstein Bros. Bagels will continue its rapid growth through licensing during the remainder of this year and into 2010. After opening 12 new units in the first half of this year, the casual-bakery chain's has 20 additional licensed store openings planned for the coming months.
Much of the bagel chain's growth is occurring at such "non-traditional" locales as college campuses, military bases, hospitals and office parks/hotels. "Einstein Bros. has proven to be a favorite among college students, military personnel, medical center professionals and travelers in large transportation hubs and hotels," said Paul Carolan, senior vice president of franchising and licensing operations. "Even in this difficult economic environment, we have built tremendous momentum behind our licensing program."
Einstein Bros. also said much of its growth is occurring via links with such dining management groups such as ARAMARK, Sodexo, Chartwells and AFFES. By the end of 2009, the Company plans to have more than 180 licensed Einstein Bros. locations across the United States, along with 500-plus corporate and franchised stores.
