When the ARIA resort casino opens at Las Vegas' CityCenter late next year, it will pair some of the biggest names in culinary circles with heavy hitters in design. Michael Mina will lead the team at American Fish, designed by Chris Sheffield and SLDesign LLC, which will feature a traditional lodge atmosphere with masculine woods and leather accents. Spanish design group Gente de Valor will make its U.S. debut with the restaurant that bears the name of its executive chef, Julian Serrano. Dupoux Design will use contemporary touches to add a sexy twist for American-fare Jean Georges Steakhouse, lead by Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Adam Tihany has his hands full designing Sirio Maccioni's Sirio Italian restaurant and an as-yet-unnamed American dim sum-style property from The Light Group. Shawn McClain's Sage is designed by Jacques Garcia Decoration while Norwood Oliver Design Associates will create the restaurant bearing Jean-Philippe Pâtisserie's name. Studio A and AvroKo will design the Blossom Chinese restaurant and Thai eatery Lemongrass, respectively. Bentel & Bentel will map out Café Centro, and Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis Architects leads The Buffet's design. Chef Masayoshi Takayama, of Masa in New York, will offer Japanese cuisine at Bar Masa and its accompanying Shaboo intimate dining space.
