After opening more than 250 restaurants during the past couple of decades, California Pizza Kitchen has decided it's time to go to school. The casual dining chain has opened its first location on a college campus, at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.
The new quick-serve location, opened by CPK franchise partner Lackmann Culinary Services, is located in the university's Student Center Atrium. While the company did not disclose whether it is pursuing other campus locales, its move onto the Hosftra campus mirrors the move by several other restaurant chains into "non-traditional" sites.
