Carlson has opened its 30th hotel in India, the 201-room Radisson Hotel Indore. That hotel is owned by India-based Bestech Hospitalities Private Ltd., which has partnered with Carlson on three other projects in the county: the Radisson Suites Gurgaon and Park Plaza Noida, both of which are operating; and the Radisson Hotel Nagpur, which is scheduled to open in the first half of 2011.
“The opening of the Indore hotel reflects Carlson's accelerated growth in India as part of our Ambition 2015 global growth strategy to expand our portfolio by at least 50 percent by 2015 to more than 1,500 hotels in operation,” said K.B. Kachru, executive vice president, Carlson, Hotels, South Asia. "With over 40 Radisson hotels under development throughout Asia Pacific, Radisson is the number one, fastest growing upscale brand in the region.”
Minneapolis-based Carlson operates 1,075 hotels under the Radisson, Country Inns & Suites, Park Inn and Park Plaza flags.
