Hotelier unveils plans for 75 additional locales in region
Carlson Hotels said it has signed agreements to open a total of 75 Radisson, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, Park Inn and Park Plaza hotels in the Asia Pacific by 2013. Those plans were announced by Hubert Joly, Carlson president and ceo, on the eve of the 10th Global Travel & Tourism Summit in Beijing.
“Accelerated development in Asia Pacific is a key priority of our Ambition 2015 growth strategy,” said Joly. “This market is a key focus area in our plans to increase Carlson Hotels' portfolio by at least 50 percent to more than 1,500 hotels in operation by 2015.”
Radisson, Carlson Hotels' upscale brand, is leading the company's charge in the region, with 43 hotels scheduled to open. The company plans also include opening 16 Country Inn & Suites, 14 Park Plazas and two Park Inns.
