Ship’s venues to include RedFrog Pub, Cucina del Capitano
Carnival Cruise Lines' newest ship will feature the line's first-ever pub, featuring its own private label beer, as well as a new trattoria that pays homage to its Italian captains. The 3,690-passenger Carnival Magic, slated to set sail staring in the European market next May, will be home to the Caribbean-themed RedFrog Pub and an Italian restaurant dubbed the Cucina del Capitano (“The Captain's Kitchen”).
The 100-seat indoor/outdoor RedFrog Pub will feature a décor that Carnival characterizes as “British West Indies meets Key West,” including nautical-themed interiors with rich wood details, tile work, portholes and images of ships at sea. Cucina del Capitano will reflect Carnival's extensive Italian lineage—all of its captains are Italian and many of its ships, including Carnival Magic, are built in Italy. The space will house framed archival photographs, many from the captains' personal collections, table arrangements that invite conversation, wood-beam ceilings and ornate wrought ironwork designed to “re-create the ambiance of a cozy Italian home,” according to Carnival.
