Art Smith’s fourth restaurant to open in September
Celebrity chef Art Smith will open the Southern Art and Bourbon Bar, his first restaurant and bar concept in the Southeast. Smith, who served as Oprah Winfrey’s personal chef for 10 years, will open his latest locale on Sept. 26 in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood.
“I am excited to bring Southern Art to Atlanta, which has become a very progressive culinary city,” said Smith, who is also executive chef and co-owner of Table fifty-two in Chicago, Ill.; Art and Soul in Washington, D.C.; and LYFE Kitchen in Palo Alto, Calif. “Southern Art will embrace my heritage and utilize fresh ingredients from local farms to celebrate the South.”
Smith says the Southern Art locale on Peachtree Road “will combine a hip, urban eatery with classic Southern charm.” Its décor will include glass chandeliers, patterned textiles and a collage of suspended artwork.
