HIRINGS/PROMOTIONS:

Fernando Cerna has returned to Morgans Hotel Group as director of global sales. Cerna most recently served as director of sales and marketing for Grove Isle Hotel and Spa; prior to that, he worked for Morgans in operations and sales at its Delano hotel in South Beach, and with the company's Miami regional sales team.

McDonald's promoted Steve Easterbrook to executive vice president and global chief brand officer. He was previously president and ceo of McDonald's United Kingdom and president of its northern division in Europe.

Vail Resorts promoted Alex Iskenderian to chief operating officer and senior vice president for Vail Resorts Development Co.

Montag Windows & Doors hired Bill Isaak as vice president of sales.

OPENINGS/RENOVATIONS/BRAND NEWS:

The Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel & Suites' two-year, $15 million renovation is complete. The project's interior upgrades were overseen by designer Anna Simone.

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and Hersha Hospitality Management have opened a 129-room Hyatt Place in King of Prussia, Pa.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened The Crowne Plaza Syracuse Downtown. IHG put the converted 20-story, 279-key property through a $5 million renovation. 

Doubletree Hotels has opened The Park Vista in Gatlinburg, Tenn., after completing an $11 million renovation of the 300-room property.

The Cheesecake Factory has opened a restaurant in Bridgewater, N.J. The 8,500 sq. ft. property seats 225. 

California Pizza Kitchen opened a 3,000 sq. ft., 110 seat restaurant in Seoul, South Korea, its fourth locale in that country.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has opened a 136-room Aloft hotel in Tulsa, Okla.

Davidson Hotel Co. has been selected to manage the Marriott at Glenpointe Hotel and Conference Center in Teaneck, N.J.

BUSINESS BRIEFS:

Healthier Choice Flooring has acquired Flexitions, a manufacturer of a stainable, flexible transition molding.

Vocon has entered a partnership with BDGworkfutures. The two architectural/interior design firms say they will work together to serve international clients. Vocon has offices in Cleveland and New York, while BDG's offices are in London and Moscow.
