Carlson Hotels Americas has named Jean-Marc Busato area vice president, Latin America; Javier Rosenbergas vice president, owned and managed operations; and Christian Urbat as senior vice president, technical services.
Hospitality management firm Barcelo Crestline Corp. promoted James Carroll to president and ceo of Crestline Hotels & Resorts and Barcelo Crestline. Former president Bruce Wardinski will serve as board chairman.
John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts hired Phill Burgess as vice president of sales and revenue management and Rod Dornbusch as vice president of capital planning and asset management.
The Raleigh Hotel at Miami Beach hired Isabel Gracia as director of sales and marketing. Gracia's experience includes stints with Mandarin Oriental, Ritz-Carlton and Hotel Intercontinental.
Restaurant industry veteran F. Lane Cardwell rejoined the P.F. Chang's China Bistro board of directors. Cardwell recently served as ceo of Boston Market.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has opened a former Wyndham hotel as the 405-key Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel & Executive Meeting Center. Starwood also opened the 251-key W Austin and the 159-unit Residences at W Austin in Texas.
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) opened the 252-room InterContinental Maracaibo in Venezuela.
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts opened the 303-key Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf inNorth Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
Carlson opened the 81-key Country Inn & Suites, Texarkana, Texas
Marriott opened the 120-key Courtyard New York Manhattan/SoHo.
Montage Hotels & Resorts opened the 220-key Montage Deer Valley in Park City, Utah.
The 803-key Westin Copley Place in Boston began an $18 million redesign of its guest rooms and corridors.
Pret A Manger, a British restaurant serving sandwich, soup and salad options, opened its second Chicago location.

HEI Hotels & Resorts sold the 360-room Le Meridien San Francisco to Chesapeake Lodging Trust for an undisclosed amount. HEI will continue to operate the hotel.
Design Hotels added the 25-room Hotel DeBrett in Auckland, New Zealand, to its Oceania portfolio.
Movenpick Hotels & Resorts secured a management agreement to operate the 180-key Movenpick Hotel Colombo in Sri Lanka.
Silver Slate announced a new creative direction and rebrand for Aláxi, the company's luxury fabric brand.

Hotel and gaming entrepreneur Sol Kerzner was honored with royal knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II for his contribution to business and community in the Bahamas. Kerzner also accepted the ILTM/UltraTravel Lifetime Achievement award in Cannes, France.
