Crescent Hotels & Resorts says it plans to continue aggressively growing in 2009, on the heels of adding 18 properties in 2008. Crescent, an independent, third-party operator of hotels and resorts, said in the coming year it will continue expanding in the U.S., as well as in the Caribbean, where the company added its first property in 2008, and in Canada.
"We have considerable experience in both regions and believe we can add value to properties, especially in this economy," said Michael George, president and ceo.
Fairfax, Va.-based Crescent owns or operates 55 hotels and resorts in 26 states. The company's portfolio encompasses the premier hotel brands of Marriott, Hilton, Starwood, Hyatt, InterContinental, Radisson, Preferred and Wyndham, as well as independent hotels, resorts and golf clubs.
