Dragontree branch to feature treatment rooms, communal space

Traveling by air these days can be stressful, so it should come as no surprise that spas are opening at airport terminals to offer commuters an opportunity to relax and refresh. One such spa will open later this month at the Portland International Airport (PDX) in Oregon.

The airport's new Dragontree Holistic Day Spa will feature private treatment rooms for massages, facials and waxing, as well as a communal space with elevated couches for therapeutic foot baths, head, neck and shoulder massages, chair massages and a variety of foot treatments. The new facility is the branch of a day spa located on Portland's northwest side.

“We wanted to create a uniquely local experience for the PDX traveler, and this very popular local operation more than fills the bill,” said Chris Madsen, general manager of business and properties with the Port of Portland. “For an airport setting, The Dragontree is a 'beyond the expected' offering, and it's just the kind of business we want at PDX.”
