‘Eco-chic’ luxury resort to open in 2011

Miami-based Desires Hotels announced that the Cliffs Ocean Resort in the Dominican Republic will join its collection of boutique properties next year. The 102-unit resort, located between Puerto Plata and Samana along the north coast of the Dominican Republic, is slated to open in summer 2011.
Desires said the property, which is seeking LEED certification, is an “eco-chic” luxury resort whose guestrooms' designs will feature large living areas and private terraces with ocean views. The complex will also be home to a luxury spa, two salt-water infinity pools overlooking the Caribbean Sea and a bar/cigar lounge.
