Concepts create immersive guest room experiences

Theming may be the next magic word for some of Walt Disney World Resorts' mid-priced properties. WDWmagic.com reports that the company is considering adding more themed rooms to its “moderate” hotels. The impetus comes from the success of the 2009 pirate-themed rooms launched at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.
According to the web site, Disney distributed a survey that included concept art of two themed approaches: an enchanted bedroom inspired by the Haunted Mansion and a Royal Room, which draws on the Disney Princess stories. Design features would include theatrical, experiential touches such as the Haunted Mansion's sliding bookcase that creates a hidden passage to the bathroom and special effects like the glow-in-the-dark footprints as well as special accents such as the Royal Room's canopy beds.
