First phase of Oslo locale to open this spring

Hilton Worldwide has announced that it has signed a multi-year franchise license agreement with Key Hotels Group s.r.o. to open the Doubletree by Hilton, Oslo-City Centre this spring. The property represents Hilton's first hotel in Norway and the Doubletree by Hilton's first location in Scandinavia.

The first phase of the project will include 59 guest rooms, a full-service restaurant and a lobby bar. Slated to open by the end of the year are 44 additional guest rooms, a fitness facility and business center. The hotel is located in a historically listed building that previously housed offices, and features a warm stone façade and original arched doorways.

Hilton said the Oslo property is part of an ongoing expansion of the upscale, full-service Doubletree brand throughout Europe.

“The grandparents and ancestral family of Conrad Hilton, founder of the 91-year-old Hilton Worldwide legacy, originated from Norway,” noted Patrick Fitzgibbon, Hilton Worldwide's senior vice president development, Europe & Africa. “We are delighted to open our first Hilton Worldwide hotel in the country with the introduction of our Doubletree by Hilton brand into Scandinavia. As we grow our portfolio of brands in Europe, we are committed to developing our presence in capital city locations. This landmark Hilton Worldwide announcement is a testament to the heritage and growth of our company.”
