Hilton Worldwide has opened its first Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Southeast Asia, a 540-key, 34-story property in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Rob Palleschi, global head of Doubletree by Hilton Hotels, said the opening “represents an important brand milestone for our worldwide collection of more than 230 hotels and resorts.”
“This outstanding hotel in the heart of one of Southeast Asia's most important cities truly demonstrates the refreshing sense of contemporary style and personalized service Doubletree by Hilton continues to pursue and present to the world's travelers, wherever they stay with us,” said Palleschi. “With five hotels now open in important business centers and attractive leisure destinations across Asia and many more development deals under negotiation in our robust development pipeline, the Doubletree by Hilton brand continues to gain momentum as a lucrative branding opportunity for owners and developers, which is both flexible for new-build and conversion purposes in the upscale, full-service hotel segment.”
Managed by Hilton Worldwide, the Doubletree by Hilton, Kuala Lumpur is owned by MGPA Asia Fund II and is part of an integrated development called The Intermark, which includes a retail center, and an office tower. (A second tower is slated to open in the development in 2012.)
