Riyadh sites include chain’s first two-level restaurant
Dairy Queen has opened its first three locations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, including the largest and only two-story DQ Grill & Chill restaurant in the world. The double-decker locale has a seating capacity of 240 and encompasses 7,500 square feet of space.
The trio of new restaurants are owned and operated by franchisee Al Safwa Food Group, a retail holding group previously involved in the Saudi Arabia casual dining segment. In all, Al Safwa Food Group is slated to open five DQ Grill & Chill locations this year and a total of 32 locations throughout Saudi Arabia by 2015.
Dairy Queen, which is owned by Berkshire Hathaway, now has locales in 17 countries outside the U.S. The company operates a total of 5,900 stores worldwide.
