Energy-efficient unit to open in 2010

Eat'n Park, a Pittsburgh-based family restaurant chain with 77 units, plans its first locale built to LEED specifications. In an announcement on the company's web site blog, the company said the eco-friendly restaurant is being built in the Pittsburgh suburb of Fox Chapel, Pa., and is slated to open in May of next year.

Eat'n Park said the new restaurant will feature Energy Star-rated equipment and recycled construction materials. It also has been designed to take advantage of natural light and will be equipped with sensors that will automatically dim electric lights when they are not needed.
