Fairfield Inn & Suites is updating some of its lobbies and rooms. Thus far, the new look has been installed at about 50 units of the Marriott International moderate-tier lodging brand, and the company says that rollout will continue in 2009.

The new lobby features an open floor plan and a vibrant color palette of greens, blues, and oranges. The suite rooms, meantime, offer separate living, working and sleeping areas and include an additional television, microwave and mini-fridge. The changes are designed to appeal to guests "looking for fresh bright spaces and a room with the comfort and technology they need to relax, be productive and recharge for the next day," said Shruti Buckley, Fairfield's brand vice president.

Fairfield Inn and Fairfield Inn & Suites operates more than 570 properties in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The brand also has 180 additional properties in its development pipeline, including several locations in New York City.
