Morgans to operate 310-key locale
A 310-key Mondrian hotel and residences complex has been announced for the 1,000-acre Baha Mar Resort in the Bahamas. Morgans Hotel Group will operate the lifestyle hotel under a 20-year management agreement when it opens in 2014.
The new Mondrian will include 188 hotel keys, 122 branded residential units, an ocean-view lobby, meeting/function space, a lounge/club, several swimming pools and cabanas, a fitness center and spa, and several food and beverage outlets, including two full-service restaurants.
"The fact that we were hand-selected to operate the lifestyle hotel within the Baha Mar Resort speaks volumes to the future growth potential of our company and our unique brands," says Morgan’s ceo Michael Gross. "We believe this deal will allow Morgans to strengthen its brand portfolio while generating attractive management and branding fee returns."
Mondrian Baha Mar will become the fifth Mondrian hotel. The Baha Mar resort is slated to house six hotels, themed retail and dining, convention/conference/meeting space and a casino.
