Gensler-designed prototype infuses select service Choice Hotels brand with a lifestyle look.

Choice Hotels International (CHH) took the wraps off the first property to feature its new prototype lifestyle design package this week. The Norton Sleep Inn & Suites in Norton, Kan. features all of the new elements designed in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary design firm, Gensler.
What’s different now: spa-style baths with wall sconces, oversized stand-up showers and bamboo-like tiles accent the bathrooms. Guest rooms get artistic flair with bed scarves and photography collages.
As part of the Designed to Dream program, future and existing Sleep Inn hotels have five design schemes to choose from, including Sky, Sprout, Terra Cotta, Summer and Grove. These concepts reflect local and regional accents throughout the country, so that each hotel can mesh with its natural environment.
Sleep Inn is also taking its fashionable style to the city. Scheduled to open its doors to guests this week, the newly-constructed Sleep Inn hotel of Jamaica, N.Y., just outside of Queens and New York City, features the same new interior design elements as the Norton, Kan. property and other Designed to Dream-designated Sleep Inn locations.
