Sheraton brand expands on three continents
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. says it will open 10 new Four Points by Sheraton hotels across the globe before the end of the year. That news comes on the heels of Four Points' recent opening of its 150th hotel.
“When you combine the halo effect of the Sheraton brand with the value and comfort of Four Points, you get a very compelling platform for growth,” said Simon Turner, Starwood's president of global development. “We're seeing tremendous excitement among our partners and developers around the world for this brand.”
Slated to open this month are Four Points hotels in Lagos, Nigeria, and Galveston, Texas, followed by Tucson, Ariz., in October. The following month will see locales open in Tripoli, Libya; Bangkok, Thailand; and Tai'an, China; while December debuts include Pune, India; Visakhapatnam, India; Houston and Memphis, Tenn.
