North Carolina casino/hotel plans 3,000-seat venue
Harrah's Cherokee Casino & Hotel in North Carolina will open a new 3,000-seat events center over Labor Day weekend 2010. The three-level venue will include VIP suites, box seating and 1,000 balcony seats. Modular seating will be used for conventions, sports programming, catering and special events.
The venue will have concession areas on all floors, along with LCD screens throughout the pre-function area. Its stage will measure 60-by-40-feet, and will be flanked by 32-foot HD screens
The events center is part of an ongoing $633 million expansion at the Harrah's complex that is also slated to include adding a third tower (with 532 guest rooms/suites), an 18,000-square-foot spa and new restaurant and retail outlets. The expansion is slated for completion in 2012.
