HIRINGS/PROMOTIONS/EXECUTIVE CHANGES

HBA made the following appointments in the wake of co-founder Michael Bedner transitioning to board chairman: Ian Carr and René Kærskov, co-ceos, HBA; Ilija Karlusic and Andrew Moore, co-presidents, HBA Asia Pacific; See Ping Wang, principal, HBA Shanghai; Howard Pharr, president, HBA Americas, Europe and Middle East. Other partners completing HBA’s new generation of leaders include Inge Moore in London; Connie Puar in Singapore; Alicia Loo, Miguel Baeza and Kathleen Dauber in Los Angeles; and Mathew Liu in Hong Kong.

Valley Forge Fabric founders Daniel and Judy Dobin have named their children, Diana and Michael, as co-presidents of the textile company. Daniel and Judy Dobin will remain active in the business.

Commercial lighting firm the Luminaires Group promoted Christian Fabi to president, Patrick Foley to executive vice president and Guy St. Pierre to executive chairman.

Yum! Brands Inc. promoted Micky Pant to ceo of its international restaurants division, replacing Graham Allan, who will retire in early 2012. Yum! will also create a stand-alone division called Yum! Restaurants India, and has promoted Niren Chaudhary as its president.

OPENINGS/RENOVATIONS/BRAND NEWS

A former Radisson hotel in Pennsylvania has opened as the 465-key DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh Green Tree. The property will undergo a $16 million renovation, which will be completed by the end of 2012.

The Rezidor Hotel Group will rebrand the Athens Park Hotel as the 152-key Radisson Blu Hotel Athens by mid December.

Marine wildlife artist/conservationist Guy Harvey will rebrand and renovate the Sumner Point Marina & Villas in the Bahamas as the Guy Harvey Outpost Club & Marina Rum Cay this summer.   

MANAGEMENT CONTRACTS/ACQUISITIONS

The Chalak Group Inc. (TCG) has acquired the 11-unit Baker Bros American Deli fast casual concept. TCG bought the concept from its founder Ken Reimer for an undisclosed amount.

AWARDS

The Wallcoverings Association will present Peter Ciaccia of Brewster Home Fashions with the Justin P. Allman Award for dedication and contributions to the industry at the Allman Awards Reception and Banquet in January.
