Downtown Toronto locale underwent $20 million upgrade
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will open the Holiday Inn Toronto Downtown Centre on April 6, its largest property in Canada under that flag. The 23-story hotel houses 23 floors and includes 9,000 sq. ft. of event space.
The grand opening marks the completion of the hotel’s $20 million renovation project at the locale in Toronto’s Yonge district. The existing building was gutted and completely redesigned by architect Ava Janikowski of Chase International Consultants in Design. The hotel’s lobby features abstract visuals by Toronto-based visual artist Neil Young.
“Toronto is a world-class city and the ideal place to host Canada’s largest Holiday Inn,” said Gopal Rao, regional vice president, sales and marketing, IHG Canada.
