U.S.-based chain now has locales in 29 foreign countries

The Hooters restaurant chain has opened its first locale in the Czech Republic. The company's new Prague restaurant is housed in a building whose facade was built in 1763 and whose basement dates to the 14th century.
The restaurant is operated by Na Zdravi Ventures, a.s., a Czech company that holds the exclusive franchise rights to operate Hooters locales in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. “We expect the introduction of Hooters restaurants into the Czech Republic to be well-received by both the Prague community and the many tourists that visit this wonderful city,” said J. Steven Parker, Na Zdravi Ventures' ceo.
The Prague locale represents the 29th foreign country to house a Hooters. The company franchises and operates a total of 459 Hooters restaurants in the U.S. and elsewhere.
