The Hotel Astor in South Beach has finished an extensive modernization that also maintained its original art deco splendor. All 40 guest rooms at the 73-year-old property have been updated with new whitewashed hard wood floors, leather couches, plasma TVs and plush amenities.
In addition, the boutique hotel is now home to a new restaurant, D. Rodriguez Cuba at The Astor, which features Cuban-inspired cuisine by celebrity chef Douglas Rodriguez. The property was originally designed by architect T. Hunter Henderson in 1936.
