138-key locale designed by Rosita Missoni to open in 2013
The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced plans for the Hotel Missoni Belek, Antalya, Turkey. The 138-key property, slated to open on the Turkish Riviera in 2013, is being designed by creative director Rosita Missoni, founder of the iconic Italian fashion house bearing her surname.
“We develop Hotel Missoni in carefully selected city centers and upcoming resort destinations,” said Kurt Ritter, Rezidor's president and ceo. “Antalya is a perfect location for this exciting, design-conscious and authentic brand.”
The new Hotel Missoni in Turkey will be a golf- and wellness resort near Belek. It will be part of an upscale mixed-use development that will also feature residential villas, a country club, a sports club and boutique retail shops. The resort's focal point will be an 18-hole golf course adjacent to the hotel; designed by the Swedish golf champion Annika Sörenstam.
In addition to 110 guest rooms and 28 villas designed by Missoni, the hotel will feature two restaurants—including a signature Cucina Missoni—as well as a ballroom and meeting space. It will also house a spa and leisure area that will include two swimming pools, Turkish baths, a fitness centre and a kids club.
The first Hotel Missoni opened in 2009 in Edinburgh, Scotland, and other locales are under development in Kuwait, Oman and Brazil.
