Hollywood Casino partners with city on project

Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg and the city of Lawrenceburg, Ind., have struck a $50 million deal to build a downtown convention center and 180-room hotel, The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. That new complex will help the Lawrenceburg compete with Cincinnati’s Horseshoe Casino, which is slated to open in 2013, the paper said.

Plans call for the construction of a 235,000-sq.-ft. building in downtown Lawrenceburg that would include a hotel, a 150-seat restaurant and bar, a concert hall and exhibition space. If all goes according to plan, the complex will open in summer 2013, at which time the Hollywood Casino would assume its ownership and management.
