Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has opened of the 202-room Hyatt Regency Dushanbe, its first hotel in Tajikistan. The property is the only hotel in the city bearing an international brand, Hyatt said.
"Tajikistan is positioned to become one of the world's top producers of minerals and metals, thus ensuring its commercial viability into the coming decades," said Gebhard Rainer, managing director, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts - Europe, Africa, Middle East. Designed by NBBJ, in conjunction with HAS Architects Ltd. of Istanbul, the hotel bears a distinctive z-shaped exterior.
