327-key hotel debuts in India
Hyatt Hotels opened the 327-key Hyatt Regency Chennai in South India. The hotel’s design features a large collection of publically displayed art installations and a 5th floor atrium lobby with green landscaping and water features.
"This strategic move to bring the Hyatt Regency brand to Chennai will introduce and deliver our authentic hospitality to this bustling market space and ensure that our loyal customers have better connectivity across the globe, as Chennai is clearly an important crossroad for many people," says Peter Fulton, Hyatt’s managing director, Southwest Asia.
The guest rooms feature natural materials and spa-inspired bathrooms that include a deep-soaking bath and separate rain shower area. Other amenities include deli Biscotti, Spice Market, Stix Chinese restaurant, more than 20,000-sq.-ft. of convention/event space, a fitness center and an outdoor pool. Additional amenities, like the Siddh Spa, premium suites, specialty restaurants, and hotel bar, will be completed at a later date.
