Complex to include hotels, restaurants and a casino

The developer of a $450 million entertainment destination in Vancouver, B.C., has chosen the design team for the project: locally based IBI/HB Architects will serve as the architect of record for the development at BC Place, while Rockwell Group of New York will serve as its design architect.

“The combination of Rockwell Group and IBI/HB is perfect,” said Scott Menke, president of Paragon Development. “Both firms understood our objective immediately - create the most imaginative, vibrant entertainment destination in the country while maintaining the integrity of the region. Their experience, eye for detail and proficiency in sustainable design was particularly appealing when choosing the right partners to craft this unique destination.”

Paragon announced plans for the entertainment destination in March. The complex is slated to include two internationally branded hotels, five restaurants ranging from home grown organic to chef signature, a reinvigorated pedestrian streetscape and a 100,000-sq.-ft. gaming floor.

Construction on the project is slated to start next year.
