Ibis Hotel Damaged in Rioting

(April 2009) posted on Mon Apr 06, 2009 EDT

An Ibis hotel in Strasbourg, France, was one of three buildings set on fire by protestors during NATO's 60th anniversary summit meeting over the weekend, The New York Times reports. The extent of damage to the hotel - a unit of Accor Group's economy hotel brand - was not immediately available. The Ibis hotel and two other buildings were set ablaze on Saturday, at the climax of a tense day in which police and demonstrators championing a host of different causes clashed at the French/German border, the Times said.
