InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has hired a Virgin Atlantic executive as its new senior vice president, global guest experience and design. Joe Ferry will join IHG later this month, and will be based at the firm's head office near London.
IHG said Ferry will be responsible “for ensuring the seven IHG brands, including Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo, remain unique and innovative, while delivering what guests need and want from their hotel stay.” Tom Seddon, IHG's chief marketing officer says in hiring Ferry, “we've found a world-class brand talent who will play a critical part in ensuring we stay at the forefront of developing unique experiences for our guests.”
At Virgin Atlantic, Ferry was head of design, with responsibilities for creating the airline's customer experience and brand identity, including aircraft interiors, uniforms, check-in areas and its award winning Upper Class Suite. Ferry has a degree in industrial design from Brunel University and a master of arts from the Royal College of Art.
