HIRINGS/APPOINTMENTS
Pinnacle Entertainment has hired Anthony Sanfilippo as its president and ceo. Sanfilippo was previously president and ceo of Multimedia Games Inc.
Kevin Ward has been promoted to vice president-furniture operations for the Kohler Co. Interiors Group. In this newly created post, Ward is responsible for Kohler's Baker, McGuire and Mark David units.
WAC Lighting has hired James McMahan as its general manager and vice president. McMahan previously worked for Schonbek Lighting Worldwide.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has relaunched its 2000th Holiday Inn hotel, the Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh-Waterfront, in Scotland. IHG is in the midst of spending $1 billion to upgrade more than 3,200 Holiday Inns worldwide.
Starwood Capital Group has opened the Hacienda Beach Club & Residences in Cabo San Lucas. Starwood partnered with The Koll Co. and Del Mar Development on the project.
The Cheesecake Factory Inc. has opened a 250-seat restaurant at the Christiana Mall in Newark, Del.
HOK London's new office at the Qube in central London has earned LEED for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) gold certification, the first office space in the U.K. to achieve this rating from the U.S. Green Building Council. The 20,000-square-foot project is the most recent of the global architectural design firm's 11 LEED-certified offices on three continents.
The Chateaux at Silver Lake in Park City, Utah, has joined the Summit Hotels & Resorts collection of the Preferred Hotel Group. The property is managed by Stein Eriksen Lodge.
HELPING OUT
Hunter Douglas Inc., a manufacturer and marketer of custom window coverings in North America, has donated a total of $550,000 to two nonprofits – the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Habitat for Humanity International – to help relieve the suffering and aid the recovery of the Haitian people following the massive earthquake that took place there earlier this year.

The Ana Yela in Marrakech has won a World Hotel Award in the Unique Small Hotel category. It is the property's third award in the annual competition.

BUSINESS BRIEFS
Brilla Group, a real estate private equity firm focused on acquiring luxury beachfront hotels and resorts in South Florida, the Caribbean and Mexico, has acquired Richard J. Cotter & Associates LLC, a boutique hotel consulting group led by veteran hotel asset manager, Richard J. Cotter. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
