On board to manage six properties
Interstate Hotels & Resorts has been selected to manage six hotels to be developed by NBB-Development in Sochi, a sea and mountain resort area in southwestern Russia and site of the 2014 Winter Olympics. In addition to management services, Interstate will provide technical services and oversight during construction.
“Russia is where we began our international outreach more than 16 years ago. We believe there are continued opportunities throughout the region and have a full team in place to oversee this expected growth,” says Thomas Hewitt, Interstate’s chairman and ceo.
The six resort hotels are expected to open in fall 2013 and will range from 150 to 400 rooms adding a total of 1,564 keys to the company’s portfolio. The properties will be part of a mixed-use development that will include shopping/entertainment venues, health/spa centers, a conference center and the Museum of Olympic History and Glory.
Interstate Hotels currently operates seven hotels in Moscow. The company and its affiliates manage and/or have ownership interests in 329 properties with more than 60,000 rooms around the world.
