Hong Kong company plans further expansion in China
Kosmopolito Hotels International Ltd. (KHI) has opened Yue @ Century Park in Shanghai, the first of the company's Boutique Series flag in China. KHI says the new 264-key hotel features guest rooms and suites that “are ultra-contemporary in design, with clean lines and soft hues, accentuated with glass decors in vivid colors, complemented with stylish and elegant furnishings and luxurious amenities.”
Allan Yip, chief marketing officer of Hong Kong-based KHI, notes that China is the most important growth market for his company. “Leveraging our success in Asia and our recent stock exchange listing which provides us with a stronger financial standing, we can now channel all our efforts and resources to grow our presence in China and seek the right strategic partnerships and opportunities to propel us into the next stage of developmental growth,” said Yip.
Other hotels in KHI's Boutique Series include the Lan Kwai Fong @ Kau U Fong, Central Park, and Cosmo Hong Kong. KHI also owns and manages three other hotel brands: the upscale Hotel Kosmopolito, the mid-scale business Dorsett Regency and the value-oriented Silka. The group aims to launch all those brands in China, targeting gateway and second-tier cities. KHI currently owns and operates 15 hotels in Asia, and has seven more properties under development.
