CJ Foodville foresees 200 Bibigo Hot Stone outlets

A South Korean foodservice company has opened a new restaurant concept in Los Angeles that officials say will be the first of 200 to open in the United States over the next five years, Nation's Restaurant News reports. Seoul-based CJ Foodville's first Bibigo Hot Stone the fast-casual restaurant has opened in L.A.'s Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. The centerpiece of the restaurant's menu is bibimbap, a traditional Korean dish that combines rice, vegetables, protein options and sauces, often topped with a fried egg and cooked on a hot stone grill.

Andy Kang, Bibigo's project manager, told NRN that two Bibigo locations opened earlier this year in Seoul, and another one is also operating in Beijing. Parent company CJ Foodville, a division of CJ Group, has set the goal of opening 1,000 Bibigo locations around the world over the next five years, including 200 in the United States.
