Starwood Capital unit to open Premiere Classe and Campanile locales in country
France's Louvre Hotels plans to introduce its Premiere Classe and Campanile budget chains in India, HVS Asia Pacific Hospitality Newsletter reports. Oliver Derycke, vice-president of international operations at Louvre Hotels, said the group will introduce its one- and two-star brands to India's 10 largest cities over the next several years.
Louvre Hotels is an affiliate of Groupe du Louvre, which is owned by Barry Stenrlicht's Starwood Capital Group. Louvre Hotels currently has a portfolio of seven brands, ranging from 1 to 5 stars. Thanks to its strategic alliance with Golden Tulip Hospitality Group, Louvre says it is the eighth-largest hotel chain in the world, with more than 1000 locales in 41 countries.
