Renovations to m/s Paul Gauguin set for early 2012
Paul Gauguin Cruises said its flagship m/s Paul Gauguin, will undergo a $7 million upgrade early next year. The renovation, to be completed during an 11-day dry-dock stint in January 2012, will feature extensive enhancements to the luxury ship’s interiors and exteriors.
Upgrades to the ship’s suites and staterooms will include new carpeting, refinished furniture with new fabrics, new teak railings on the balconies, decorative side panels around the windows and new bathroom flooring. Public-space improvements will include new flooring and replaced carpeting, as well as new furniture, window treatments and decorative wall panels.
The last major upgrade for the 14-year-old ship occurred in early 2009, when it underwent a $7 million update. The m/s Paul Gauguin is 513 feet long and can accommodate up to 332 passengers.
