New California restaurant concept involves two former McDonald’s executives
Two former McDonald's executives and an investment banker have teamed to create LYFE Kitchen, a new restaurant concept whose first outlet will open this summer in Palo Alto, Calif. LYFE, an acronym for “Love Your Food Everyday,” will feature a menu created by celebrity chefs Art Smith and Tal Ronnen and a contemporary, open restaurant environment.
LYFE's creators include Stephen Sidwell, founder and ceo of Devante Capital; Mike Roberts, formerly McDonald's global president and chief operating officer, and Mike Donahue, ex-chief communications/external relations officer at McDonald's. “Every decision we make—from using eco-friendly building and packaging materials, to ingredients we source, to providing an engaged service team and partnering with local non-profits—will engage and inspire our guests, and ultimately, have a tremendous impact,” Sidwell said.
