Park Hyatt may be planting its flag on a new luxury hotel under development on West 57th St. in Manhattan according to rumors reported by, The New York Post. New York-based real estate development company Extell Development Co. is working on a tower that will house a 1,000-foot high hotel and condominium project The security company Extell hired - Louisville, Ky.-based Aegis Security Design - indicated to the Post that five-star hotel would be a Park Hyatt, but an Extell spokesman told the newspaper no details had been finalized on a brand. The only information Extell has released officially is that the tower will be LEED-certified, could have as many as 80 stories and feature condos positioned above the hotel. The property also will include a spa, pool area, ballroom and meeting rooms. The only hint on design is Extell's web site mention about a possible atrium.
