Singapore Marina Bay Sands' general manager says he expects the new resort to be profitable from day one. In an interview with The Malaysian Star, George Tanasijevich said there is massive potential for integrated resorts in Asia, especially in China and India. "Overall, we remain extremely optimistic about the prospects for Marina Bay Sands and the future of the tourism industry in Singapore with China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand serving as key source countries for both the business and leisure tourist market," he said. The Las Vegas Sands Corp. development Tanasijevich runs is slated to open in late 2009 and will feature three cascading hotel towers topped by a "sky park."
