Three flags housed in two connected towers
Marriott International Inc. has opened the three-hotel Doha City Center complex at the Doha City Center Mall. The three hotels—a 257-room Renaissance, a 204-room Courtyard by Marriott and a 123-unit Marriott Executive Apartments complex—are located in a pair of adjoining 48-story towers.
Marriott said although each hotel has its own look and feel, they share floors 1-7 of the buildings. Those floors house three separate lobbies, nine restaurants and bars, 13,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, a Vitality Zone health club and a Saray Spa.
“The opening of the three hotels is a major step forward in reinforcing Doha’s futuristic vision and surging tourism potential in Qatar,” said Ed Fuller, president and managing director, Marriott International. “These three new hotels give us six properties in the country, which is fast becoming a key business and leisure destination in the Middle East.”
The Doha openings double Marriott’s locales in Qatar. Its first hotel in the country was the 362-room Doha Marriott Hotel opened in 1999, followed by the 374-room The Ritz-Carlton Doha, opened in 2001, and the 174-room Sharq Village & Spa (managed by The Ritz-Carlton) opened in 2007.
