Locales will be open for 2014 Olympics
Marriott International said it will open three new hotels in Sochi, Russia, site of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The hotels, operating under franchise agreements negotiated through NBB Development CJSC, will be run by Interstate Management Services.
The hotels are the:
• 150-room JW Marriott Sochi Golf Resort (slated to open in early 2014)
• 398-room Marriott Krasnaya Polyana Hotel (late 2013)
• 345-room Courtyard by Marriott Sochi Plaza Hotel (late 2013)
“We are thrilled to announce these three new hotels in Sochi and to be part of the growing infrastructure and rise of this great destination,” said Amy McPherson, president and managing director for Marriott International in Europe.“Sochi has long been known as Russia’s most fashionable resort destination, and now with the upcoming 2014 Winter Olympic games, the world’s spotlight will be focused on the city."
Marriott joins several other major brands—including Hyatt, Rezidor and Hilton—in unveiling plans to open hotels in Sochi in advance of the Olympics.
