GoThere service to be offered at 20-plus hotels
Marriott International has rolled out its first GoThere Virtual Meetings studios at its New York Marriott East Side Hotel and Bethesda North Marriott Hotel near Washington, D.C. The sites, which use Cisco TelePresence studios enabled by the AT&T network, offer high-definition video screens and real-time audio in a meeting-room setting.
The virtual meetings sites “offer our customers a new way to hold more productive, collaborative meetings linking locations around the world, and open up new revenue opportunities for our company and our hotels,” says David Marriott, the hotel company’s chief operations officer, Americas Eastern Region.
In the first phase of the GoThere rollout, Marriott plans to expand the service to 25 more hotels around the world, including the Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel in London; the JW Marriott Hong Kong; the Renaissance Sao Paulo; the JW Marriott Marquis Miami; the Renaissance Washington, D.C.; the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway; and the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Marriott.
